If you are receiving care at home, you are entitled to an additional relief allowance of €131 per month. With this amount, you can make flexible use of services provided by accredited care providers, which will make your daily life easier and help you maintain your independence. In this way, we help you to stay in the comfort of your own home for as long as possible.

Additional relief allowance – your benefits
The additional relief allowance helps you and your family carers to organise your daily life as independently as possible.You receive a subsidy that you can use flexibly for short-term care or care during the day.You have the opportunity to take part in stimulating care programmes such as memory training.

How can the additional relief allowance be used for neighbourhood assistance services?
In many federal states, you can also use the additional relief allowance for help from dedicated neighbourhood assistance volunteers. They can help you, for example, with household chores or leisure activities – depending on what you need.

Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to provide support there in the form of a subsidy.
What are the eligibility criteria for the additional relief allowance?
A care level of 1 to 5 applies.The care and support takes place in your familiar surroundings (i.e. at home).The additional relief service is provided by an approved care provider or a recognised neighbourhood support service.
How much is the additional relief allowance?
Regardless of your care level, you will receive a monthly additional relief allowance of €131 from us.
Good to know: You do not need to use the allowance immediately every month. Unused amounts can be saved up and used collectively later.
Example: If you do not make use of any additional relief services between January and March, you will have a total of €524 available to you in April.
You can use any remaining amounts for the previous year until 30 June of the following year. This allows you to remain flexible, according to your needs.
How to obtain the additional relief allowance
The additional relief allowance is not paid directly to you, but is granted as a reimbursement. This normally means that you pay the bill yourself first and then receive the money back from us.
Finding care services: Use theBKK-Pflegefinder, to search for approved care services in your area, gather information and compare quotes.Submitting an invoice: If you have used the additional relief services, upload the care provider’s invoice toMeine SBKor send it to us by post. You can find our address and a prepaid envelope here. It is also possible for the care provider to invoice us directly. To do this, we need a declaration of assignment from you. You can obtain this from your care provider.
