    Care benefits in kind – your benefits

  • You benefit from care in your familiar surroundings provided by a care service.
  • You don’t need to worry about a thing. Your care service will invoice us directly.
  • The SBK Long-Term Care Consultation Service is here to help with any questions you may have.

    • What are the eligibility criteria for care benefits in kind?

  • A care level of 2 to 5 applies.
  • The care and support takes place in your familiar surroundings (i.e. at home).
  • The care is provided by professional carers from a social welfare centre or an approved home care service.

    How do I find a suitable care service?

    We can help you find a suitable care service that is approved by the statutory care insurance funds. The BKK Pflegefinder is also available for assistance. There you can access specific information on care services and compare the various options.

    How to obtain care benefits in kind

    To qualify for the benefits, you must submit an application to assess your care needs – the easiest way to do this is online via Meine SBK – and inform us that you wish to claim care benefits in kind or  switch your current benefits to care benefits in kind.

    You enter into a contract with the care service and specify which care benefits you wish to claim each month. The care service will invoice us directly for the costs of the services provided.
