Home care

If you are receiving care at home, the following home care benefits may be available to you:

Combined benefits (care allowance and care benefits in kind)	Depending on the amount of your care service’s invoice, the amount of the care allowance changes accordingly. Example: The care service receives €459.80 per month in care benefits in kind, which is 20% of the total amount. The care allowance of €990 is therefore reduced by 20%. This results in €792 (remaining 80%) in care allowance, which we will still pay to you.

Support options for care provided by family carers

Respite care and short-term care	up to a total of €3,539 (per year)

Since 1 July 2025, the previously separate budgets for respite care and short-term care have been merged. Instead of the previous individual amounts, you can now use a combined annual budget of €3,539. You can use this according to your individual needs for both respite care and short-term care. You can claim up to eight weeks of respite care and short-term care per year. This change allows you to be more flexible and makes it easier to plan and use care services.

Residential care

If you are receiving care in a full-time residential care facility, the following residential care benefits may be available to you:

Supplement to the care-related personal contribution for full-time residential care	up to 12 months: 15% more than 12 months: 30% more than 24 months: 50% more than 36 months: 75%
Full-time residential care in facilities for people with disabilities	15% of the care home fee (up to €278 per month)

If you are eligible for allowances, we will only pay half of the costs. As a rule, the allowance covers the remaining costs or a portion thereof.
