To relieve you financially, we, as your health insurance, will cover the costs for your medically necessary dental treatment. The use of amalgam as a filling material will no longer be possible as of January 1, 2025, due to an EU-wide ban on amalgam fillings in dentistry. However, this does not mean that existing amalgam fillings need to be replaced. Whether the replacement of existing amalgam fillings is necessary is decided by your dentist.

Your dentist's practice will directly bill the contractually agreed-upon costs for your dental treatment to SBK. Simply present your SBK healthcare card during your visit to the practice.

If certain services,such as periodontal treatment,need prior approval, your dental practice will contact us directly. Typically, you will receive our approval for coverage of contractual treatment costs within a few days of us receiving the necessary documents.
