STARKE KIDS health program
Happy children are strong
Regular checkups actively promote good health – even from early childhood. That’s why we’ve expanded our valuable preventive care services with an additional strong benefit: the “STARKE KIDS” health program. This gives you the peace of mind that your child can develop in the best possible way. Take advantage of this special added value for better health – free of charge for SBK members, of course. A strong benefit for strong kids.
The strong benefits of STARKE KIDS
U0 for Expecting Parents
As expecting parents, you benefit from a free consultation at your future pediatrician’s office. Ask all your questions about your child’s first months of life. Get well prepared on many important topics, such as the benefits of breastfeeding, accident prevention, the baby’s sleeping environment, and much more. All information about the U0 and where to find the right pediatric practice can be found
Baby Check
During this preventive appointment, you will receive valuable tips on topics such as healthy weight, balanced nutrition for your baby, sleep improvement, and accident prevention. Additionally, your pediatrician will discuss ways to prevent allergies and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Additional Eye Examinations – Amblyopia Screening
Take advantage of eye screening to detect vision problems and misalignments early and have them treated by a specialist. You can have two additional eye exams: once between the 5th and 14th month, and again between the 20th and 50th month. If your child is diagnosed with amblyopia (“lazy eye”), we will gladly support you with the online vision training program Caterna. All information about this can be found here.
Speech Assessment
This important preventive check takes place during the U7 (21 to 24 months) and U7a (34 to 36 months) appointments. Speech development irregularities can occur between the ages of 2 and 4. Early detection helps identify these issues in time. If recommended, speech therapy can provide your child with optimal treatment. Additionally, your child can benefit from the speech therapy app neolexon alongside the therapy.
Elementary School Checkups U10/U11
These preventive appointments focus on your child’s attention and concentration skills, which are essential for performing well at school. Development of reading, spelling, math skills, and social competencies are also discussed. Nutrition and oral health are important topics as well. The U10 checkup takes place at ages 7 to 8, and the U11 at ages 9 to 10.
Infection Counseling
Please bring your child’s vaccination record to every checkup. The pediatrician’s office ensures your child’s vaccination status is complete and advises you accordingly.
Youth Check J2
The youth check, known as J2, is available for teenagers aged 16 to 17. You and your child will receive confidential counseling on topics such as puberty, sexuality, and obesity.
Health Coaching
Health coaching is aimed at families facing challenging situations—such as chronic conditions or behavioral and developmental concerns. Your pediatrician will inform you about various treatment options and strengthen your ability to cope with the situation together.
HPV Vaccination Counseling
Protect your child against human papillomaviruses (HPV). HPV infection is the most common viral sexually transmitted infection worldwide and can cause cancer, among other diseases. Vaccination provides long-lasting immunity against HPV types. The German Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) recommends vaccination for girls and boys from the age of 9. Your pediatrician will provide you with comprehensive counseling on this important topic.
Depression Screening
This screening is specifically designed for children and adolescents aged 11 to 17. This age is marked by many changes and challenges. Sometimes young people need professional support. The questionnaire helps identify such needs early. You can also get information about possible support services.
Media Addiction Screening
This screening assesses whether your child’s media consumption between the ages of 12 and 17 is age-appropriate and healthy.
PädExpert® – Specialist Knowledge via Telemedicine
With PädExpert®, pediatric practices can virtually consult experienced specialists for chronic or rare diseases. This saves you the trip to a specialist’s office and provides quick clarity on diagnosis and further treatment planning. This service also gives children a sense of security by allowing treatment in their familiar pediatrician’s office.
