The disease management program for type 1 diabetes
In Germany, around 200,000 people are affected by type 1 diabetes, often already in childhood or adolescence. Those who develop the condition depend on lifelong insulin therapy due to a complete lack of insulin. Although patients with type 1 diabetes account for only about five percent of all people with diabetes, they are more severely affected by the disease.

With the MedPlus treatment program, you as a diabetes patient can rely on optimal care and significant relief in managing your condition. You benefit from high-quality medical care and treatment while also playing an active role yourself.
You will feel more confident in dealing with your condition and be able to lead a largely normal life. Participation in MedPlus is free of charge and voluntary. For legal reasons, a declaration of participation is required.

We also support you with self-help measures so that you can participate in everyday life with renewed energy.
How to participate in MedPlus diabetes type 1
If you would like to participate in MedPlus, please contact your personal SBK consultant.
Enrollment and completion of the declaration of participation take place at your doctor’s practice. After registration, your doctor will create a treatment plan together with you and explain the content and options in detail. Your previous medical history will be documented and the next treatment steps will be planned, for example when specific examinations are advisable.
