Mother-child health retreat or father-child health retreat
Gain new energy for everyday life
A mother-child or father-child health retreat is an inpatient medical treatment. It is designed to alleviate or eliminate existing health problems (e.g., exhaustion syndrome or stress-related overload) caused by family stress. It also gives you new ideas for everyday family life. For example, you will receive helpful tips and guidance on how to deal with problems, fears, and double burdens.
When is a mother-child or father-child health retreat particularly suitable?
A mother-child or father-child health retreat is particularly suitable for parents who feel highly stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted due to their everyday family life or individual stressful situations.
A mother-child or father-child health retreat can offer the following support:
A mother-child or father-child treatment program requires your active participation and that you take the time afterwards to apply what you have learned so that you are fit for everyday family life again.
If you or your child have a chronic illness or other serious illness, rehabilitation through the pension insurance scheme or children's rehabilitation may be advisable. Your personal SBK consultant will be happy to advise you on this. You can find the contact details here.
How does the treatment work?
A mother-child or father-child health retreat usually lasts three weeks and can be applied for every four years. You decide for yourself whether you want to take your child or children with you or not. If you want to take your child or children with you, it should be easy for you and your children to be apart from each other for part of the day.
You choose the clinic together with your personal SBK consultant. SBK has contracts with many high-quality parent-child clinics.
What costs does the SBK cover?
Once the mother-child or father-child health retreat has been approved, we will cover the full cost of the retreat (including public transportation costs). You will not incur any additional costs apart from a statutory co-payment of €10 per day.
How to obtain a mother-child or father-child health cure
1. Visit your doctor: To find out whether a mother-child or father-child health retreat is right for your situation, talk to your doctor first. They are familiar with you and your family situation and can help you decide which option is best for you.
2. Obtain a prescription form: If a health retreat is the right course of action, you will receive the prescription form (certificate) directly from your doctor's office, as the medical necessity of the health retreat must be confirmed by a doctor. Your doctor should fill this out in as much detail as possible for you and your child, if they also require treatment.
3. Submit your application: Please send the completed form and the relevant documents to SBK. You can find our postal address and a prepaid envelope here. Or you can conveniently submit your application in Meine SBK.
4. Review by SBK: We will then review your application and contact you within a few working days of receiving the documents.
5. After approval: If your application is approved, you will work with us to select a suitable clinic close to your home for the earliest possible appointment. You can then begin your treatment on the selected date.
