Advice in the event of an accident

Support from the SBK after an accident

If you have had an accident and subsequently required medical treatment, we will send you a questionnaire about your accident. Below you will find information about the questionnaire and how we can support you in the event of an accident.

 

Why am I receiving a questionnaire from SBK?

After you have received medical treatment, SBK will receive the diagnosis and thus learn about your illness or accident. Some diagnoses often conceal an illness or accident caused by a third party. This could be salmonella poisoning or a broken arm, for example. Due to legal regulations, the costs of treatment caused by a third party are transferred to SBK. SBK then contacts the party responsible for the damage or their liability insurance to claim these costs.

    In order to assert claims in any of the above cases, SBK requires as much detailed information as possible about the accident or damage. You can fill out the questionnaire easily and conveniently online in Meine SBK.

    What happens if I caused the accident myself?

    Of course, you will receive all medically necessary treatment to get you back to health. SBK will cover the accident-related treatment costs for you in any case. Even in the case of an accident caused by your own fault, we need accurate information. The easiest way to send us this information is by completing the questionnaire. SBK has concluded sharing agreements with many insurance companies. This means that the policyholder's contribution alone is sufficient to assert the claims. This means that the question of fault is irrelevant. You will not incur any financial or other disadvantages.

    What does the SBK do with the information from the questionnaire?

    We require this information in order to assert any claims for compensation on our part against the party responsible for the damage or their insurance company. We guarantee that the data will only be used for these purposes and is subject to data protection.
