Early detection

Early detection examinations enable diseases to be detected at an early stage

Early detection examinations aim to detect diseases at the earliest possible stage. This allows them to be treated in good time and increases the chances of successful treatment. The SBK covers the recommended early detection services. There are also other examinations that are not covered by statutory health insurance. You will find all the information you need on this page. This will enable you to make an informed decision about which early detection examinations are right for you.

    • Frequently asked questions about early detection

    As a general rule, all medically necessary services can be billed via your SBK healthcare card. Therefore, please ask your doctor for detailed medical information during your appointment. Why was the service not billed via the SBK healthcare card? Why is the service considered necessary and recommended for you?

    Still can't understand why the service isn't covered by your health insurance? Then you don't have to pay the bill right away. Feel free to contact SBK before you pay the bill. Your personal SBK consultant will check whether the billing is correct. You can find the contact details here. We can also tell you what alternatives are available in standard care.

    The fitness check can be carried out by any sports physician recommended by the German Society for Sports Medicine and Prevention (DGSP). You can find a list of these medical practices on the DGSP website.

    Our tip for you: check the list to see if your doctor's practice is listed before making an appointment. We can only reimburse invoices from appropriately qualified doctors on the list.

    The Discovering Hands breast examination is only offered by certain gynaecological practices participating in the agreement. You can find a doctor's practice that offers the Discovering Hands examination by using the search function on the Discovering Hands homepage. Your personal SBK consultant will also be happy to help you with your search.
