SBK Deductible tariff
With this rate you benefit if you use few services
With SBK, you have a health insurance company with strong benefits and personal advice at your side. However, we know that as long as you stay healthy, you will only need a few benefits. You can benefit from this because your health is rewarded. With the SBK deductible tariff, you continue to enjoy the full range of benefits offered by SBK. Your monthly health insurance premium also remains the same. Your advantage: if you make no or only few use of benefits, you will benefit financially. We reward your health after just one year with a bonus of up to €350, depending on your income.
In return, you contribute up to a certain amount to the costs if you do happen to fall ill. This amount is called the deductible. Your co-payment (the deductible) is limited to a maximum of €100, depending on your tariff level. This means you always have full control over the costs of your treatment. It is important to note that statutory preventive medical checkups are excluded from the deductible, so you do not have to contribute to the costs of these.

How to obtain the SBK deductible tariff
You can choose the rate at the beginning of the next month or a subsequent month. This can be done quickly and easily via Meine SBK. There you can submit your application for the SBK deductible tariff directly online via Applications and Forms. Would you prefer to receive the application in paper form? Then simply contact your personal SBK consultant. You can find the contact details here. Send the completed application back to SBK: you can find our address and a prepaid envelope here. No further documents are required.
When you sign up for the SBK deductible tariff, it initially runs for three years. After that, it is automatically extended for one calendar year at a time, unless you cancel the rate in writing one month before the end of the three-year period or thereafter on November 30 of each year. The classification into a rate category remains binding for the duration of participation.
You will receive your premium payment or the invoice for your co-payment (deductible) in August of the following year. The reason for this is that we do not receive the invoices from doctors' offices, clinics, and pharmacies until that time.
Consideration in the tax return
The law stipulates that premium payments reduce deductible pension expenses. As a health insurance company, we are therefore obliged to report the maximum possible premium amount per calendar year to the relevant tax office.
