Declaration on accessibility

Siemens-Betriebskrankenkasse (SBK) endeavors to make its websites and mobile applications accessible. The legal basis for this is the Disability Equality Act (BGG), the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) and the harmonized European standard EN 301 549 in its current version.

Status of consistency with the requirements

These websites comply with the German Federal Ordinance on Barrier-Free Information Technology (BITV) 2.0 with the following inconsistencies and exceptions.

Inaccessible content

We are currently working on making the following content accessible:

PDF: PDF documents and forms are not yet fully accessible. As an alternative, you can use the online forms in Meine SBK or refer to the information on www.sbk.org.

Images and graphics: Not all images and graphics have clear alternative text.

Video content: Not all of our video content has subtitles or a complete audio transcript.

xund Health Check (external offering by provider xund): The Health Check is provided as an external offering by the provider xund via an iFrame on sbk.org. Despite our efforts, this area is currently not fully accessible. As this is a third-party tool that we have embedded, we have only limited influence over its technical implementation. The barriers listed below are examples of known issues. We cannot rule out that further barriers exist beyond these that we are not yet aware of. We are in dialogue with the provider xund with the goal of making the Health Check accessible. Known barriers include, for example:

Content is sometimes read aloud by screen readers with the incorrect language setting, making German-language text difficult to understand.
Certain input fields cannot be fully operated on mobile devices using the OS's built-in accessibility features, making it impossible to proceed in the Health Check at these points.

Creation of this declaration on accessibility

This declaration was created on 21 September 2020. Accessibility tests conducted by the Test and Integration Center of Deutsche Telekom MMS GmbH are the basis for this.

The declaration was last reviewed on 1 July 2025.

Accessibility testing is an integral part of our development process. All new functions are checked for compliance with accessibility requirements before publication.

Enforcement procedures

You have the option of initiating arbitration proceedings with the arbitration board with the Federal Government Commissioner for the interests of persons with disabilities pursuant to section 16 of the Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.
