Electronic prescription

The fast track to your medicines

The E-Rezept (e-prescription) enables your doctor to prescribe medication digitally. You can now redeem your prescriptions at the pharmacy in paperless form or manage and order them via the E-Rezept app.

The E-Rezept – your benefits:

  • You save time and effort and protect the environment.
  • You decide how to redeem the prescription and who redeems it.
  • With the app’s family function or the SBK healthcare card, you can collect prescriptions for family members.
  • The E-Rezept is forgery-proof and can only be viewed by you, the doctor’s surgery that issued the prescription and the pharmacy.
  • Follow-up prescriptions within the same quarter can be transmitted digitally, eliminating the need for a further visit to the doctor.
  • Redeem your prescriptions with a simple click in the app and check the availability of your medicine in advance. If the pharmacy offers a delivery service, then you can have your medication delivered home.
  • How the E-Rezept works

    Issuing of the E-Rezept: Your doctor issues an electronic prescription (E-Rezept) for the medication prescribed for you during the consultation at the surgery or via video. This prescription is entered in the computer at the surgery and stored centrally.

    Receiving the E-Rezept: You can now choose how you want to redeem the E-Rezept at the pharmacy: via your SBK healthcare card, your electronic patient record (ePA), the E-Rezept app or a paper copy. A prescription code is automatically generated for each electronic prescription, which is required for redeeming the prescription at the pharmacy.

    Redeeming the E-Rezept: Show the prescription code at the pharmacy using your SBK healthcare card, your SBK electronic patient record or the E-Rezept app. You will then receive your medication. Alternatively, you can also redeem the E-Rezept digitally. Select your pharmacy in the E-Rezept app and choose how you want to receive your medication: by reservation and in-person collection, delivery by courier or through an online pharmacy. 

    You can redeem the E-Rezept directly at the pharmacy with your SBK healthcare card. Simply insert your SBK healthcare card into the card reader at the pharmacy. The healthcare card serves as a kind of key that allows the pharmacy to retrieve your prescriptions from the prescription memory.

    Download the SBK-Patientenakte app. The doctor treating you will provide you with the E-Rezept for the app. You can redeem it in person or digitally at the pharmacy. In addition to the E-Rezept, the SBK electronic patient record has further useful functions – for instance, you always have doctor’s letters, medication plans and results with you.

    Download the official gematik E-Rezept app. The doctor treating you will provide you with the E-Rezept for the app. You can redeem it in person or digitally at the pharmacy.

    Instead of the familiar pink prescription, you will receive a paper copy with a QR code at the doctor’s surgery. The prescription code is scanned at the pharmacy, and you can then collect your medication or order it.

    What you need in order to use the E-Rezept

    Redeeming the E-Rezept with your SBK healthcare card:

    Simply present your SBK healthcare card at the pharmacy to redeem the E-Rezept. You do not need the PIN for this.

    Redeeming the E-Rezept with the ePA app:

    The SBK-Patientenakte app can now also be used to redeem the E-Rezept. Simply download the app: here you can find the download links to the app stores.

    The E-Rezept module uses authentication via the health ID. You do not have to be a user of the ePA. The ePa app resembles a holder comprising various applications such as the ePA as well as the E-Rezept module.

     

    SBK-Patientenakte app (ePA)

    Redeeming the E-Rezept with the gematik app:

  • To do this, you need a smartphone with an operating system of iOS 15 or higher or Android 7 or higher that has NFC technology (NFC is an international transmission standard for the contactless exchange of data via electromagnetic induction).
  • You also need the PIN for your SBK healthcare card: to receive the PIN, you must successfully identify yourself. Find out how to do this on the page SBK healthcare card with PIN/PUK.
  • Alternative activation with the SBK Account: Alternatively, you can also activate access to the app via your SBK Account. The SBK Account gives you comprehensive access to the following digital services: SBK electronic patient record, Meine SBK and the E-Rezept app. Once registered, you can quickly and easily take advantage of all the benefits of the health services on offer.
