The benefits of statutory health insurance are limited to European countries and do not offer global cover. SBK is therefore not permitted to reimburse any costs you may incur here, or is only able to cover your costs to a limited extent, depending on the country. SBK is not generally permitted to cover the cost of medical transfers back to Germany, for example.

Note: Children are insured under the family tariff until they reach the age of 25.
Tip: If a maximum of 2 people under the age of 64 are insured under the family tariff, then insurance under the individual tariff is cheaper for these 2 people in total.

Request a refund
You first pay the invoice for your medical treatment abroad yourself. For reimbursement, simply submit your photographed or scanned invoice digitally via the ERGO website.
Alternatively, you can send your original invoice to ERGO by post, stating the contract number of your international health insurance:
